At 1.86 kg/m it carries more steel than the light grade — enough to handle firm ground, support heavier wire mesh, and take a decent hammering without rolling or warping. This is the AU industry-standard 300mm picket. Drives well into average-to-firm soil with a post driver, pairs with geofabric for silt and erosion control fencing, and doubles as a support anchor for wire netting, barrier mesh, and bunting lines. ### Medium grade explained At 1.86 kg/m you get a noticeably stiffer picket than light grade — flexes less under wire tension, resists bending in moderate clay, gives more purchase depth per drive.
