Product Warranty
Last updated: June 2026
1. What's covered
The Star Guys warrants steel droppers, posts, strainers, wire and associated fencing hardware supplied by us against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery. Typical examples of a covered defect:
- Galvanising failure (flaking, missed coating) on goods stored and installed correctly;
- Failed welds on factory-assembled product;
- Out-of-spec dimensions vs the published product description.
2. What's not covered
This warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:
- Installation contrary to industry practice or manufacturer guidance;
- Exposure to corrosive chemicals, fertilisers, marine spray (within 1 km of the coast) or industrial fallout;
- Bushfire, flood, livestock impact, vehicle impact or other physical damage;
- Use outside the intended purpose (agricultural fencing) — including structural, marine, decorative or load-bearing use;
- Modification, cutting, welding, drilling, painting or re-coating after delivery;
- Normal wear, weathering and surface oxidation that does not affect structural performance.
3. Remedy
Where a warranty claim is approved, we will, at our election: repair, replace or refund the affected goods. Replacement freight to your nearest port is at our cost; door-delivery freight beyond the port is by quote.
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
4. How to claim
Email sales@thestarguys.com.au with your invoice number, photos of the affected goods (including the defect close-up and the installation context), and a brief description of the issue. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for the full claim process.
5. Your Australian Consumer Law rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not limit or replace, those rights.
